Baghvan Taj Safari Lodge

Named after the regal Bengal tiger, the Baghvan Taj safari lodge lies at the edge of the Pench National Park, the backdrop to Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book. The lodge blends seamlessly with the jungle backdrop whilst upholding a superior level of comfort and splendour. If you love beauty, privacy and wildlife, we assure you that you will be enchanted by the Baghvan Taj safari lodge.

Baghvan's twelve individual bungalows are luxuriously furnished with exotic textiles, wooden latticed bay windows and Machans (romantic rooftop sleep-outs). The cottages boast spacious courtyards, outdoor showers and secluded, shaded outdoor living areas. You will be waited on by your private butler who will attend to your every whim, from dining under the jungle canopy on your Machan to scenting and cooling your room in hot weather with traditional Khus screens.

The courteous staff at the Baghvan lodge quickly learn your tea and cocktail preferences, and will be delighted to serve meals and drinks almost anywhere on the property. Fusing traditional Central Indian cuisine and international dishes, the lodge offers a supremely personalised menu, catering to your every gastronomic desire. We recommend dining on the decking overlooking the nullah (dry riverbed). Pre-dinner drinks under the banyan tree are not to be missed.

The lodge offers twice-daily safaris, lead by expert rangers and naturalists and allowing you to access hidden, unspoilt jungle territory. Encountering tigers, leopards and brilliant birdlife, your trip into the heart of the jungle will be vibrant and unforgettable. Away from the jeep, why not take a guided nature walk or even ride an elephant? To simply relax, indulge in an in-room Ayurvedic massage or take a dip in the solar-heated pool.
