Muhua Kothi Safari Lodge

Tucked away in the beautiful Bandhavgarh National Park, Mahua Kothi safari lodge is an enchanting natural retreat steeped in tradition and luxury. Its grounds sprawl over 40 acres and incorporate lush meadows, thickly canopied forests and rocky plateaus. Amidst this awe-inspiring backdrop Muhua Kothi provides a haven of comfort and adventure.

The 12 cottage suites (Kutiyas) at Muhua Kothi showcase both local tradition and a firmly organic ethos. Huge bathtubs, modern amenities and en-suite bathrooms are de rigueur, as are burnt orange local textile furnishings, roughly hewn beams and handmade pottery roof tiles. Take the opportunity to dine on your private, spacious veranda. If you choose to dine elsewhere, your private butler will warm your mattress in preparation for your return. You may even come back to your Kutiya to find a drawn bath scattered with marigold petals. Nothing is too much trouble.

The dining experience at Mahua Kothi is as diverse and colourful as the surrounding flora and fauna. Whether you lunch by the pool, under a tree canopy or aside a waterhole, ingredients are fresh, home-grown and expertly prepared. On your return from a game drive teas and cocktails await. Later in the evening we recommend that you dine under the stars on the terrace, enjoying local folk dances as you dine. On returning to your cottage you will find surprise treats, and if a particular dish makes your mouth water the chefs will even send you the recipe once you get home.

Sunrise and sunset safaris provide the unforgettable opportunity to see tigers, bears, leopards, jungle cats and many more exotic creatures in their natural habitats. Hot water bottles and blankets ensure superior levels of comfort in the mornings, however if you seek a greater level of pampering why not finish the day with an in-room massage? Stretch out in a yoga lesson or cool down in the pool after an exhilarating day atop an elephant or cycling around local villages.

From Delhi fly 3.5 hours to Jabalpur. The lodge is a 4 hour drive from Jabalpur.
