A small, charming resort with a relaxed, peaceful ambiance (there are no noisy water sports and no children under 8!) Baros boasts one of the best house reefs in the Maldives " just a few metres swim from the beach and alive with marine life.

The 75 thatched villas are set over water, by the beach or amongst the tropical vegetation. If youre honeymooning at Baros we suggest you book a Baros Pool Villa " in a beachfront location but subtly sheltered by foliage, the view from your four poster bed towards the ocean takes in the spacious sundeck and your private plunge pool.

For a small resort, the dining options are impressive. Dont miss the sumptuous breakfast; enjoy a sun-downer cocktail at the Lighthouse Lounge; gather round the Teppanyaki Table and watch the chef conjure up Japanese dishes or go gourmet at the Lighthouse Restaurant.

As well as simply snorkelling the house reef or diving one of the 30 nearby dive sites you can get more involved and learn about coral reef conservation and monitoring at the Marine Centre. You can even adopt your own coral and will receive pictures every 6 months! If you prefer to be above the water there is a good choice of non motorised water sports. For relaxation take part in a yoga classes or enjoy the tranquillity of the spa.
