Amangiri
Amangiri, 'peaceful mountain', is located on a 600-acre expanse of wilderness in Canyon Point, Southern Utah, close to the border with Arizona. Boasting one of the most dramatic landscapes in the USA with deep canyons and towering plateaus, the region has been home for centuries to the native Navajo and Hopi tribes yet is sparsely populated and presents the raw landscape for which the American Southwest has become famous. Built around a central swimming pool with spectacular views, the resort has been designed to blend into its dramatic surrounds with natural hues, materials and textures a feature of the design.
Amangiri offers 34 contemporary-styled suites, each with views of the surrounding raw landscape, 6 of which have private pools.
The Dining Room features floor-to-ceiling glass doors which open onto the outdoor dining terrace overlooking the swimming pool. The focal point of the Dining Room is the open kitchen with its wood-fired oven imparting a unique flavour and rustic authenticity to Amangiri's cuisine. Next to the Private Dining Room is a walk-in Wine Cellar.
The Aman Spa at Amangiri is a 25,000-square feet escape from the stresses of the outside world and features a flotation therapy pavilion. The starkly beautiful desert landscape around Amangiri offers a host of outdoor activities. The resort features not only hiking and exploration, but aerial tours such as hot air ballooning and scenic aerial flights; and water based adventures including fly fishing and high powered speedboat trips.
