Montpelier Plantation & Beach

This Relais & Chateaux hotel, once an 18th century sugar plantation where Admiral Lord Nelson was married, is the only hotel to have both a hilltop and private beach location. A chic boutique retreat with just 16 gorgeous guest rooms, a fabulous Garden Suite, a stylish 2-bedroom Villa Suite and The Little House, all accessed by winding paths around the property and situated in lush tropical gardens, this is considered to be one of the finest small luxury hotels in the Caribbean.

Montpeliers private beach club, or Montpelier-by-the-sea as it is known, is located at Pinneys beach with sun shelters, beach pavilion and a bar (in an historic Nevisian house), ocean kayaking, snorkelling and mountain biking. Regular barbeque lunches are hosted here year round. Picnic lunches can also be arranged for guests visiting Montpeliers private beach. This includes delicious salads, bagels, sandwiches " all served with fresh fruit and homemade cookies. Other facilities include changing room, WC and shower. Diving is available and there are many interesting dive sights around St Kitts and Nevis. Resort courses and full certifications are available. Rain forest tours, riding, eco hiking, deep sea fishing, sailing, windsurfing and kayaking are all on offer on the island.

There are 3 restaurants for dining, The Great Room Terrace, The Mill, an 18th century sugar mill, and Indigo, a casual option with a Tapas menu in the evenings at the pool bar. There is also a freshwater swimming pool, bar and a tennis court including complimentary racket and balls (lessons can be arranged with a professional coach).

The Spa at Montpelier embraces the tranquillity of the location 750 metres above sea level where the trade winds are fresh, the air is clean and the energy from the mountain helps rejuvenate both mind and body.
