Vamizi Island Lodge is an exquisite beach destination that lies off the northern coast of Mozambique in the Quirimbas Archipelago.

The beach villas stretch along the curved bay, all with uninterrupted ocean views. At Vamizi Island Lodge, guests can step out of beautifully appointed beach houses into a world of powder white sands, virgin reefs and secret coves. Five of the beach villas have been designed as two-bedroom suites, to provide exclusive seclusion for families or friends. The villas stretch along the main 8 kilometre beach and allow for maximum privacy. Rooms have king-size 4 poster beds with billowing muslin mosquito nets and Egyptian cotton sheets. Swahili day beds are perfect for an afternoon siesta on your private veranda.

For the more active, Vamizi Island Lodge offers  world class scuba diving and big game fishing, snorkelling, salt water fly-fishing, bird walks, dhow cruises and private picnics.

Cuisine at Vamizi is surf-fresh seafood and mouthwatering tropical dishes, served in the thatched open dining room, or grilled on the beach. Guests can also take the total desert island approach - alone with a shipwrecked picnic on a deserted beach.

Immersed as it is in the Indian Ocean, Vamizi is easier to reach than you might think, considering how castaway it is - and with miles of deserted coastline and a tropical ocean to cross, it’s all part of the adventure. You can connect from South Africa, Mozambique or Tanzania easily within a day.

Vamizi Island charter flights operate regularly to/from Dar Es Salaam and Pemba. Private charter flights can also be arranged. From the Vamizi Island airstrip there is a 15 minute speedboat or 45 minute 4x4 drive to the Lodge.
