Le Sirenuse

This has to be one of the most absolutely beautiful and special hotels that one will ever experience. It really is so unique, from the moment you walk through the door. Everything seems like a dream, from the beautiful, light and airy rooms, the spacious bathrooms with plenty of storage space for your belongings, the excellent food and service in the restaurant, to the extremely pleasant staff. It is a real treat. The Hotel Le Sirenuse in Positano was opened in 1951 and gradually expanded to its present size. Originally, it was the summer house of a noble Neapolitan family, the Marchese Serale, who now the Hotel currently belongs. Its nucleus is an old patrician house where the Presidential suite, the drawing rooms and the bar are located. The new rooms and suites have been arranged all around this area. John Steinbeck who was here for the first time in 1953, described the hotel as follows We went to the Sirenuse, an old family house converted into a first class hotel, spotless and cool, with grape vines over its outside dining room, every room has its little balcony and looks out over the blue sea to the island of the Sirens from which those ladies sang so sweetly. At that time the Hotel was at the beginning of its life. Since then we have continued to renovate and improve it every year, always trying to retain its character. In fact all rooms and the reception area are still furnished, wherever possible, as a big and comfortable private home where the old blends with the new to combine the tradition and the way of life of yesterday with the comforts of today. The Hotel has private parking at a cost of Euro 35.00 per day which should also be requested at the time of booking. Please note that children under 8 years of age are not permitted between the months of April to October and are not permitted in the restaurant for dinner between November and March. They are, however, allowed for lunch.
