Amanjiwo

The limestone Menoreh hills rise gently behind you, the Kedu Plain sits in front and four beautiful volcanoes are on the horizon. This is the view you will experience whilst staying in the Amanjiwo, a hotel based around a natural amphitheatre overlooking the 9th Century World Heritage site that is the Buddhist sanctuary of Borobudur.

36 suites frame Amanjiwo's main building in two graceful crescents around the central Rotunda. High stone walkways link the thatched roofed suites to the main building and swimming pool. Choose a garden suite with views over terrace farmland or relax on your wraparound terrace in the Dajem Jiwo suite with a 15 metre pool set into the rice fields.

At The Restaurant the exquisite Indonesian and Western cuisine is beautifully complimented by the outstanding views over the rice fields to Borobudu. Try the house specialty Makan Malam, a series of classic Javanese dishes served in traditional brass bowl for a once in a lifetime culinary experience. After a busy day don't forget to enjoy your favourite cocktail at the circular salon bar.

Situated in Central Java, the sights are perfect for any keen traveller.
