Singita Grumeti Reserves

SASAKWA LODGE, SABORA TENTED CAMP and FARU FARU LODGE

Singita Grumeti Reserves offers an unparallelled eco-safari teeming with magnificent wildlife encounters on the western corridor of the Serengeti in Tanzania. This 140 000 hectare (340 000 acres) private concession comprises an exclusive trio of luxury lodges: Singita Sasakwa Lodge, Singita Sabora Tented Camp and Singita Faru Faru Lodge. Each positioned ideally on the epic migratory route traversed annually by more than a million wildebeest. Lavish luxury and personal service are all part of the Singita philosophy.

Singita Sasakwa Lodge, the flagship of this East African experience, encapsulates all the romanticism and grandeur of the colonial era. Set atop a soaring plateau of omni-present vistas, the lodge was built in the style of a sprawling 1920's manor house, with exquisite antiques, dramatic chandeliers and deep verandahs embracing a turn-of-the-century ambience. Cliff-edge infinity pools give way to a vast horizon of the outstretched Serengeti plains abundant with wildlife.
The eclectic mix of classic European and eccentric African design adds plush opulence to ten spacious cottages, ranging in size from one to four bedrooms. Magnificently appointed as a luxury home-away-from-home, each air-conditioned cottage flaunts a secluded garden, heated infinity pool, separate living area and a Swarovski spotting scope.

Radiating simplistic elegance in the middle of the Serengeti plains, Singita Sabora Tented Camp evokes a romantic "Out of Africa" adventure with nine vintage tents dressed in classic Edwardian safari style. Creating the feel of a lavish Bedouin tent, each canvas cocoon offers opulent luxury complete with antique mahogany travel chests, Persian rugs, en-suite bathroom and campaign furniture whilst silk curtains frame an up-close view of the open plains.

Situated on a rocky slope, basking in a dense habitat of abundant animal species and birdlife, Singita Faru Faru Lodge lends a contemporary style signature to safari. Inspired by a botanical theme this riverside eco-lodge offers elegance in a laid-back rustic setting. The lines of two rim-flow swimming pools echo those of a watering hole that lies just below. The elevated viewing decks over the watering hole allow you to view game without even leaving your lodge, and a Swahili-inspired "beach" offers the opportunity for rest and relaxation. The contrast of natural elements against a unique fusion of cutting-edge design and comfortable furnishings is integrated in nine open-style suites, each with an outdoor shower or bath.

In addition to exceptional game drives and walks, you have an array of activities to keep you occupied: from archery to tennis; hot-air ballooning to horseback game viewing; as well as a spa and gym, mountain biking, jogging track and a full-service equestrian centre.
