Shompole Lodge
Shompole is located on the edge of the Nguruman Escarpment in Southern Kenya. The whole collection of Shompole was designed with a unique combination of undulating white walls and the multiple textures of natural quartz rock, bulrush thatch and smooth recycled fig wood. The design of each building incorporates the beauty of natural forms whilst blending effortlessly into the rugged rift valley surroundings. Shompole Lodge is a truly unique lodge which manages to combine stunning design and ultimate luxury whilst working hand in hand with the local community. Designed by Anthony Russell, each of the beautiful rooms blend in with the surrounding natural landscape and perfectly compliment the African bush.
Shompole Lodge is cleverly extended to include Little Shompole, an exclusive haven of complete privacy and luxury. Anthony Russell has continued the design theme of the main lodge at Little Shompole by using the same materials and keeping the central theme of water and white walls. Pure African Zen. Each room has its own seating area, spacious bathroom and a large private cool-pool. The palatial beds are nestled under a high-canopied canvas and white netting tent and take in the sweeping views of the Great Rift Valley. Meals can either be enjoyed in the exclusivity of the private rooms or in the chic communal lounge and dining area. With the dedicated team of staff, private guide and game viewing vehicle and full butler service, Little Shompole is perfect for the discerning traveller who wants complete privacy without sacrificing luxury and atmosphere. Straddling the ridge above Shompole Lodge this split level house is comprised of two bedrooms, ensuite bathroom, swimming pool, dining area, waterfall shower and outside bath. The House is a stunning and unique design, combining the textures and materials harvested from the local group ranch, with the relaxing properties of flowing water and cool pools in each room. It offers unique style, stunning views, a relaxed atmosphere, private dining, spa treatments and the opportunity to take part in the many game viewing activities. The latest addition to Shompole, 360 is a spacious and exceptionally private house that retains the signature Shompole style. Where 360 differs from its counterparts is in its unique and enviable position.
The main mess area is completely suspended off the escarpment over a stunning free form pool with views across to Tanzania. There are two bedrooms offering over 5000sqft of space easily accommodating a family of four in each. Amenities include your own staff, game vehicle, private dining and for those wishing to make a grand entrance, there is a private helipad.
